Former Strictly Come Dancing star Erin Boag has introduced her baby boy Ewan to the world on the latest cover of Hello! magazine.
Ewan was born three days before his due date on April 24th 2014, which was also Erin’s husband Peter’s 50th birthday.
The dancer had hoped to have a natural birth but a scan at 39 weeks showed a mild case of polyhydramnios – excessive amniotic fluid.
Speaking about the birth, the 39-year-old explained: “As I was being taken to the delivery room, I said I wanted Peter to hold him first. When Ewan was born, they wrapped him up, handed him to Peter and I said, ‘happy birthday'”.
The new mother revealed that she had asked her former Strictly partner Anton du Beke to be godfather to Ewan.
Erin also spoke of her decision to leave Strictly Come Dancing during the interview. She said: “We went to see producers in early June and I said ‘thank you very much, but no thank you’.
“It was a bit of a shock to them. It was sad, but I was ready. I’d done ten series – it was a great time in my life and I have very happy memories. I loved every series I did, every partner I had”.
