We honestly can’t keep up with Russell Brand. One minute he’s happily involved with Isabella Brewster and talking about settling down, the next he’s involved with a member of the Spice Girls. Yes, you read that right.
The Irish Sun reports today that Russell has apparently ditched his girlfriend Isabella and is, in fact, actually involved in a “very serious” romance with Geri Halliwell (also known as Ginger Spice).
Russell is said to have cooled things off with Isabella earlier this month so he could spend more time with his new romantic interest, Geri. And, according to reports, Russell and Geri have enjoyed a string of dates over the past few weeks, including a tour of London’s Hampton Court Palace with Geri’s daughter Bluebell Madonna, last weekend.
“Things are getting very serious between them – they’re a proper couple now. They had met several times in the past, but really got to know each other during the Olympics. People thought Russell was joking at the time, when he said he had a crush on Geri all over again, but it was true,” said a close friend of the comedian.
“They just clicked – they have so much in common. He is spending so much more time in London just to be with her,” the friend added.
Russell apparently fell for Ginger Spice as they both rehearsed their roles for the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games, and the pair were seen laughing, joking and holding hands during their private tour of Hampton Court Palace last Saturday.
“I thought it was the most random thing ever to see Russell Brand of all people in a place like that – until my wife pointed out he was with a Spice girl. They seemed like they were having a really great time, holding hands and chatting – it was 100 per cent obvious they were a couple,” said an eyewitness who was at Hampton Court Palace when the couple arrived.
“Geri was holding his hand the same way I hold my wife’s. It was so cute,” the eyewitness added.
According to reports, Russell had been planning to move in with Isabella just before he met Geri and after the Olympic Games closing ceremony, the comedian told the media: “I have a crush on Geri Halliwell – everything in the world is how it should be.”
Eh…okay…
“He [Russell] ended his relationship with Isabella Brewster, and is now dating Geri properly,” said another close friend of Mr Brand.
“They’ve exactly the same sense of humour and are serious about clean living,” the friend added.
