Reality TV star Spencer Matthews, best known for his role in Made In Chelsea, has officially become a Guinness World Record-holding endurance athlete
Matthews achieved the extraordinary feat of completing the “most consecutive marathons run on sand,” conquering 30 marathons in 30 days.
Taking to Instagram to celebrate the achievement, the 35-year-old shared a series of photos documenting his grueling journey across the desert.
In a post marking the occasion, Matthews wrote: “DID IT!!! I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT!! 30 DESERT MARATHONS IN 30 CONSECUTIVE DAYS… ALL ON SAND.”
He proudly announced his new status as a Guinness World Record holder, highlighting that he is the first and only person to have completed such a demanding challenge under these extreme conditions.
Each day, Matthews ran over 42.2 kilometers, or 26.2 miles, totaling an astonishing 1,274.02 kilometers (791.68 miles) through some of the world’s toughest terrain, “with no comfort in which to recover”.
Matthews undertook this challenge not just for the record books, but to raise awareness and funds for Global’s Make Some Noise, a charity supporting small organisations across the UK that help people facing life’s toughest challenges.
As of now, his efforts have raised an impressive £342,508, with Matthews encouraging further donations through a link in his bio.
“100% of your donations go directly to Global’s Make Some Noise, and absolutely nothing has gone or will go to me, my team, or the logistics of the challenge,” he said.
The reality star extended heartfelt thanks to his support team, crediting their “professionalism and proactive problem-solving” for making this achievement possible.
Reflecting on the experience, Matthews described the month-long journey as “truly unforgettable,” concluding his post with: “What a month! What a feeling!”
