Sophia Bush Speaks Out At Heartache Of Losing Ex In Nepal Earthquake

Actress Sophia Bush has spoken out about the news that her ex-boyfriend, Dan Fredinburg, is the first American confirmed dead following the Nepal earthquake. Fredinburg, who dated the actress for just over a year, was climbing Mount Everest when he was killed by an avalanche triggered by the quake. Image via E! News Taking to her Instagram account, the One Tree Hill star wrote an emotional tribute to her ex and close friend: "There are no adequate words. Today I find myself attempting to pick up the pieces of my heart that have broken into such tiny shards, I'll likely never find them all. Dan Fredinburg was one-of-a-kind. Fearless. Funny. A dancing robot who liked to ride dinosaurs and chase the sun and envision a better future for the world. His brain knew how to build it. His heart was constantly evolving to push himself to make it so. He was one of my favorite human beings on Earth. He was one of the great loves of my life. He was one of my truest friends. He was an incredible brother, a brilliant engineer, and a damn good man. I'm devastated and simultaneously so deeply grateful to have known and loved him, and to have counted him as one of my tribe."

Bush dated the Google executive from March 2013 until April 2014, when the pair decided to split amicably. They continued to be close friends until his death. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which has believed to have killed more than 1,300 people, rocked the capital Katmandu on Saturday morning. The earthquake is believed to have caused at least 34 deaths in northern India, as well as more than10 deaths on Mount Everest in subsequent avalanches triggered by the quake.
