Soap Star Loves James Bond So Applies for Job at MI5

From walking around Albert Square to following potential enemies for MI5... well not quite...

He is best known for playing Robbie Jackson on Eastenders and walking his dog Wellard but Dean Gaffney apparently wants a bit more drama in his life.

The 34-year-old actor responded to an online ad for the role of Mobile Surveillance Officer with the Secret Service recently.

Dean Gaffney applied for a job as a surveillance officer for the Secret Service.

He told The Sun: “I’ve got an enquiring mind, so I thought I’d give it a go… I love spy films and the whole James Bond thing.”

Nobody seems to have told him that his role would be with MI5 in domestic security and not MI6, who Bond actually works for.

Anyway Dean, who hasn’t had much television work since appearing on Extras and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, believed he had the skills to make it as a spy.

“MI5 put out an advert looking for people and I thought, ‘How hard can it be?’ Most spies spend their lives pretending to be people who they’re not. I do that for a living,” he explained.

He became famous for playing Robbie Jackson on popular soap Eastenders.

Sadly it seems Dean didn’t exactly have what they were looking for but at least he still has his reputation with the ladies just like Bond.

Although we have to admit we can’t see him having half as much success with them as Daniel Craig would!
