After seven months of living the single life, it seems as though Katie Holmes is finally ready to put herself back in the dating game. However, the actress is reportedly vowing to take things slow because she’s still recovering from the emotional scars left behind by her marriage to Tom Cruise.
Celebrity gossip website RadarOnline.com reports that Katie is worried about entering into a serious new relationship because she fears it would mean an end to her current freedom.
Despite the fact that Katie’s marriage to Tom Cruise ended last year, there is still speculation as to what caused the actress to file for divorce. Rumours state that Katie was spurred on to divorce Tom because she was sick of his “controlling ways” and getting fed up of his desire to control her every move.
Katie is reportedly ready to start dating again
“Katie’s in a dilemma, because she wants to date but is concerned where it could lead from there,” said a family insider, speaking to RadarOnline.
“She’s worried that if she commits herself fully to another man, she will have to give up the freedom she’s enjoying so much at the moment. As a single woman, she has no one controlling her nowadays, telling her what to do or who to see and she absolutely loves it!
“However, at the same time, she also misses being with someone special to share experiences with and she doesn’t want to be alone for the rest of her life,” the insider added.

The insider revealed that while Katie is happy enough having her daughter Suri for her best friend, she does eventually want to find a man that she can be close to as well.
“She’s just a little nervous and cautious about relationships still right now,” the source added.
