Singer Kesha has filed a lawsuit against her former music producer Dr. Luke citing sexual, physical and emotional abuse.
The singer claims that Dr. Luke, otherwise known as Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald, subjected her to abuse for over ten years.
Kesha alleged that he drugged her to the point that she “nearly lost her life” and she aims to end her contract with the producer through this lawsuit.
Reports say the singer is seeking damages for sexual assault, battery, sexual harassment, gender violence and emotional distress.
In the lawsuit, 27-year-old Kesha alleges that not long after she moved to Los Angeles, the producer began to abuse her and forced her to take drugs.
Dr.Luke has also filed a lawsuit
According to the LA Times, the lawsuit claims that on one occasion Dr. Luke forced Kesha to take drugs before getting on a plane.
Once they had boarded the plane, the producer “forced himself” on Kesha while she was drugged.
It is also alleged that Dr. Luke made threats towards Kesha and her family, including her mother, songwriting partner and even her pet dog.
Dr. Luke has also filed a lawsuit, where he claims Kesha engaged in defamation and breached the contract they had previously negotiated.
“We understand that Kesha has filed a lawsuit of her own against Dr. Luke, though we have not yet seen it” said a statement from Dr. Luke’s lawyer Christine Lepera.
“Undoubtedly, Kesha’s lawsuit is nothing more than a continuation of her bad and offensive acts. We are confident that Dr. Luke will prevail in all matters, and that our client will be awarded substantial damages for this malicious conduct” continued Lepera.
