A lot of us spend half our lives searching for “the one” – luckily for Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld, he’s already found his “one” and this “one” likes to purr and occasionally hack up the occasional hairball (hey, no one’s perfect).
The Irish Independent reports that the designer has taken his love for his little cat Choupette to the next level by wearing a pair of cat ears in a recent photo shoot for an interview about the pampered feline.
Karl Lagerfeld appears in the American edition of Harper’s Bazaar proudly showing off Choupette and telling the world about how spoilt she is.
Choupette, or “Princess Choupette” as Karl calls her, has racked up an impressive fan base ever since it was revealed that she has two maids of her own and her own iPad. Eh…yeah…we don’t get why a cat would need an iPad either…
Choupette Lagerfeld is the apple of Karl’s eye.
Unfortunately, Choupette had been sick the night before Karl’s interview with Harper’s Bazaar so the magazine was told about how a doctor was called for the cat.
“She had eaten something she wasn’t supposed to eat. They had changed her food because she’s grown-up now, and the food was not right yet,” said Karl.
“She goes in the kitchen and sits in front of the food. She doesn’t like to eat on the floor so I have to put the food on the table. Her dishes are by Goyard. She has one for water, one for her little croquette, and one for her pate. You have to serve everything, and she makes a choice,” added Karl, speaking about the cat’s picky eating habits.
Designer bowls? A choice of fine cuisine? An iPad? Does anyone else find this just a tad bit insane? Anyone??
Karl also revealed that Choupette absolutely hates the smell of Chanel No.5 and that she doesn’t purr, instead “everything is done with the eyes.” Right. We should also mention that Choupette will only allow the doctor to give her a manicure.
What a fussy pussy, huh? But despite Choupette’s rich tastes, Karl is still head over heels for the feline.
“She’s the one,” said Karl.
We hope Karl and Choupette have a very happy life together.
