“I just wanna put it out there that I wasn’t drunk. I nearly fainted.
Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has given an update to her social media followers after she was forced to leave the National Television Awards due to a medical issue.
Shaughna sought medical attention after nearly fainting on the red carpet at the awards ceremony in the OVO Arena Wembley yesterday evening.
She subsequently left the event.
Now, Shaughna has reassured her fans that she is resting up and doing well at home.
Taking to her Instagram stories, she said: “So, if anyone saw my exit from the NTAs – I just wanna put it out there that I wasn’t drunk. I nearly fainted.
“I don’t know what happened to me, I just had this absolute dodgy turn. And yeah I had to take my shoes off and be helped out by my manager. Now I’m in bed.”

She added: “But, just in case anyone did see, and thought ‘f***ing hell, she’s seen better days,’. Correct. But I wasn’t drunk.”
The NTAs saw the brightest stars of television come together to celebrate the past year’s achievements. Ant and Dec were crowned best presenters, but they were unable to collect their award due to being sick with Covid.
ITV’s This Morning scooped the award for Best Daytime Show, despite recent controversy over hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield’s alleged “queue-skipping” to see the Queen’s coffin.
A source in the audience told The Sun: “The boos in the room were very loud when Holly and Phil were announced as the winners. It was really embarrassing. Judi Love from Loose Women didn’t clap either. It was all very awkward.”
