It’s not just Shakira’s hips that don’t lie.
The Colombian singer decided to dish another home truth to her ex-husband, Gerard Pique, while on stage at the Latin Grammy Awards.
Shakira won big at the event as she and her collaborator, Bizarrap, were also named this year’s Best Pop Song and Best Urban Interpretation winners.
Making the moment even better was the fact it was her ex’s Spanish teammate, Sergio Ramos who presented her with the awards.
In her acceptance speech, Shakira detailed “the difficult moments” she had been through in the recent years of her life, a thinly veiled swipe at Gerard who found himself caught up in a cheating scandal.
The 46-year-old singer said: “I want to share this with my Spanish public. You have been there accompanying me through the good and the bad, in difficult moments.”
She then walked off the stage to her sons who congratulated their mother with a sweet kiss on the cheek.
The ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ hitmaker nabbed three awards in total. She also won Best Song of the Year for Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 which was a collaborative track released in January with record producer Bizarrap.
Several of Shakira’s most recent singles appear to be swipes aimed at her ex, including The Boss.
The song is named after the alleged nickname given to her by Pique’s friends after he failed to hang out with them or bond with them during the pair’s relationship.
The music video for the track also features the nanny Gerard allegedly fired without pay after she exposed his cheating to Shakira.
