Hands up, we’d be the first to admit we’d turn into a blubbering mess if we met Queen B, but we thought a different code came into play when you’re a fellow celeb greeting the Bootylicious one.
Not so, it seems.
Cheryl Cole has fessed up to completely embarrassing herself in front of the Halo singer when the pair met briefly in 2008.
Beyonce was appearing on the X Factor final to duet with Cheryl’s act Alexandra Burke, and the singers met backstage at the show.
Now, Cheryl has admitted that it wasn’t a case of immediate BFFs and she’s in no rush to see the pop star again.
Speaking to MSN, the ‘Fight for This Love’ singer named Beyonce as one of her idols, saying; “I love how Beyoncé is empowering as a woman. She’s positive and she’s about sisterhood and that’s quite rare these days I think.
But, when asked about their meeting, she said: “I haven’t seen her since, but that’s okay – that one time was enough for me. I totally embarrassed myself – I’m sure she doesn’t want to see me again.”
Cole refused to admit how exactly she did embarrass herself, but it’s reassuring to know that even famous people get a little starstruck. Ah Cheryl, you’re just like us. Minus the perfect hair, smile and style, fame and huge bank balance. Just. Like. Us.
