“I wish his successor the very best of luck”
Sarah McInerney has confirmed she won’t be replacing Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show.
The broadcaster was favourite to replace Tubridy after Claire Byrne also pulled out of the race.
“Nor have I sought Waystar from Logan Roy,” she joked.

“Though the prospect of grilling young children over their toy choices every December would be enticing, I let RTÉ management know a couple of weeks ago that I wouldn’t be throwing my hat in the ring.
“There’s an election coming, maybe next year. Prime Time and Drivetime will be at the centre of RTÉ’s coverage. Like all political nerds. I can’t wait.”
McInerney added, “Ryan Tubridy has done an exceptional job at the helm of The Late Late Show. I’ll really miss him on Friday nights, and I wish his successor the very best of luck.”
Claire Byrne also confirmed she won’t be taking over from Tubridy yesterday.
The broadcaster stressed that she is happy with her career and has no plans on hosting The Late Late Show.
She also said she wants to spend more time with her young family.
Patrick Kielty, Brendan O’Connor, and Kathryn Thomas are now the current front-runners for the role.
