Sandra Bullock’s longterm partner has died from ALS aged 57

Sandra Bullock and Bryan Randall first met in 2015.

Sandra Bullock’s long-term partner Bryan Randall has sadly passed away aged 57. Randall was diagnosed with ALS three years ago.

Sandra Bullock and his family issued a statement following his heartbreaking passing.

They stated:

“It is with great sadness that we share that on Aug. 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS. Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.”

“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours,” they continued.

“At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan,” the statement concluded.

Sandra Bullock started dating Randall, who was a photographer, in 2015. The pair met when he photographed her son’s birthday party.

She previously described Randall as the “love of my life”.

What is ALS?

ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in a person’s spinal cord and brain.

The first signs of ALS include weakness in limbs, slurred speech, trouble swallowing, and muscle twitching. The disease progresses rapidly and affects a person’s ability to eat, speak, move, and breathe.

ALS is a fatal disease.
