“You were one of one.”
Samantha Mumba has paid tribute to her father, Peter Omero Mumba.
The singer’s father passed away last month on March 20. He was 66-years-old.
Mumba revealed the passing this week on social media, writing that her dad was “one of one.”
“I’ve been in two minds about whether to post- as this is so personal and you have always been so private,” she wrote.
“However it doesn’t feel right not acknowledging you and our immeasurable loss.”

“You were one of one. A deeply intelligent, complicated, intuitive, sarcastic, funny, authentic, shy, observant, protective and proud man.
“I am forever grateful to have your DNA in my veins. Until we meet again Dad on the other side of the stars.”
Mumba, who is best known for her tracks ‘Gotta Tell You,’ ‘Baby Come On Over,’ and ‘Always Come Back To Your Love,’ shared the tribute on her Instagram page alongside a series of photos of her father.
Currently based in Los Angeles, the 37-year-old recently told RTÉ that she would be happy to raise her own children in the US or Ireland.
“I have been living there over a third of my life now. Mad when I think about it,” she said.
“Having a daughter has made me appreciate even more the lovely quality of life it provides. There are so many things that I can do with her.
“It’s great for her that she will have so many opportunities here or in America. I am very passionate about her little life.”
