Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively made a rare public appearance last weekend

Justin Baldoni’s lawyer is calling out Ryan Reynolds after the actor’s appearance on SNL over the weekend.

Reynolds and actress Blake Lively made a rare public appearance over the weekend at the 50th anniversary celebration of SNL.

The Hollywood couple looked as happy as ever as they walked the red carpet together at the lavish event.

This is the pair’s first public event after Lively filed a lawsuit against It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni.

Lively has accused the actor of sexual harassment, as well as plotting a “multi-tiered plan” to damage her reputation.

Baldoni has denied the accusations and has also filed a lawsuit against Lively.

The Jane the Virgin actor accused both her and Reynolds of seeking to harm his reputation and take over creative control of the film.

Following Lively and Reynolds’ public appearance at the weekend, Baldoni’s lawyer slated the actor for making light of the situation.

During the 50th anniversary episode of SNL, Reynolds joked about the lawsuit.

Host Amy Poehler said: “Ryan Reynolds, how’s it going?”

Ryan Reynolds then replied: “Great, why, what have you heard?”

Baldoni’s lawyer admitted he was surprised to see Reynolds joking about such a serious matter.

He stated, “I’m unaware of anybody, frankly, whose wife has been sexually harassed and has made jokes about that type of situation. I can’t think of anyone who’s done anything like that. So it surprised me.”

Author Shari Botwin told DailyMail.com that joking about sexual harassment in such a public way may have repercussions.

She shared, “Joking about sexual harassment insinuates that the victim is to blame, making it even more unlikely that someone will come forward. It normalizes and excuses this type of behaviour.”
