It’s better known as the favourite pasttime of Grannies and second class primary school students but if GQ magazine is to be believed, Ryan is actually a closet knitting fan and loves nothing more than knocking out a few lines whenever he gets the chance.
Speaking in this month’s issue of the American edition, the Gangster Squad star reveals that he became familiar with the wooly activity when he was shooting Lars and the Real Girl back in 2007 and now counts it as one of his favourite hobbies.
“I did this scene in ‘Lars and the Real Girl’ where I was in a room full of old ladies who were knitting, and it was an all-day scene, so they showed me how. It was one of the most relaxing days of my life,” Ryan told the magazine.

But that’s not all! The 32-year-old star also described a day of knitting as his idea of a “perfect day”! “If I had to design my perfect day, that would be it,” he said. “And you get something out of it at the end. You get a nice present. For someone who wants an oddly shaped, off-putting scarf.”
He’s a total ride, loves Grannies and is able to knit scarves and possibly some mittens? Swoon.
