RTE’s Sinead Kennedy opens up on her long distance marriage to naval officer

RTE presenter Sinead Kennedy has opened up about her long distance marriage to her husband who is a naval officer. Speaking about her marriage to the RTE Guide, the Today Show host admitted that while it can be hard as her husband Conor Kirwan is based in the European Defence Agency in Brussels, they make it work. She said: “It’s been tough on Conor and also for Indie looking for daddy and asking for him, but that is our reality for now.

“And we knew what we were signing up for. It’s also for a finite amount of time, so we just make it work."

Adding that she has her flights booked for Christmas time to head over to see him with her one year old daughter, they'll be booking another trip in the new year. Sinead spent the summer in Belgium with her husband and keeps in regular contact with him through messaging apps and phone calls, but admits she'd love to see more of him. "I’d love to see more of Conor but this is where we are at right now," she said. The former Winning Streak presenter welcomed her daughter Indie last year, posting a snap of her new addition on Instagram to share the news. The Cork native shared a precious snap of new Dad Conor carrying baby Indie out of the hospital. "Home a few days now and settling into life with this little one," she said in the caption. "Indie Kirwan is the most precious thing to have every happened to us. We're overcome with happiness and are feeling extremely grateful." Sinead added: "We''ll love you forever baby girl."
