RTÉ presenter Claire Byrne is expecting her second child with fiancé Gerry Scollan.
“It is a bit of a happy surprise,” she told the Irish Independent. “For a short time we’ll have two babies under one. It is going to be a bit of a challenge”.
The couple’s eldest son, Patrick, was born in October of last year. Claire told the publication that their new arrival will be a bit of company for the six-month-old.
Claire is best known for presenting Prime Time.
After having her first child, the Prime Time star took ten weeks off before returning to work on the show which she co-hosts with Miriam O’Callaghan.
She explained: “I took two weeks off after he was born and ten week afterwards. You can never predict how it will go – if everything goes well the intention is after 12 weeks off I’ll go back”.
Claire and Gerry, who got engaged in March of last year, are apparently not planning to find out the sex of the baby .
