Roxanne Pallett engaged to US reality star after whirlwind romance

Roxanne Pallett is reportedly engaged months after meeting a new man in New York City.

The former Emmerdale star has been dating American firefighter Jason Carrion since this summer. Jason appeared on the US version of reality show Married At First Sight in 2014. He and Cortney Hendrix, who he wed on the show, filed for divorce in February of this year. He and Roxanne met when she got out of a taxi across the street from him in New York City during the summer. They began chatting and it was "love at first sight," a source close to the couple has said.

"Jason has been a rock to Roxanne since they’ve been together," the insider told The Sun. "They’ve had very parallel lives and share an intense connection because of their past struggles. "He’s fiercely protective over her and has told friends that she’s the one he’s been searching for all this time."

Jason asked Roxanne's mum for her blessing before popping the question recently, the source added. Roxanne went to spend some time in the US following her controversial stint on last year's Celebrity Big Brother. She became vilified when she was accused of exaggerating a fake punch from fellow contestant Ryan Thomas on the show. She and her fiancé Lee Walton split at the beginning of this year.
