Ronan Keating just can’t stop talking about his broken heart and it may be something to do with the poor sales of his latest album!
The former Boyzone star said that he feared he has “lost everything” when his 2009 affair with dancer Francine Cornell hit the headlines.
Ronan dished the dirt on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories which was recorded on Saturday night.
According to the Irish Sun, Ronan said: “The pain that I caused Yvonne has been devastating. I was incredibly selfish, totally ignored what could happen. I regret what I did.
“I’ve never been so frightened in my life as I was when it happened, I felt I’d lost everything because of what I’d done.
“As a man, to realise that and take that on board is not good.
Ronan and his wife Yvonne split in April 2012
“At that time it was horrible, it was frightening, and it was horrible. I thought I had lost it all.”
Ronan said that his family had the right to turn their backs on him after his shameful behavior.
“It would be great if I had an excuse but I don’t. It was wrong, what I did. I made a choice and because of that choice there were devastating effects on people’s lives.
“You have to somehow pick yourself up; everyday is a new day. I deserved what I got, I didn’t like it, but I deserved it.
“I spent so long doing everything right and then to do what I did and for it to be such a big deal it just floored me. It crushed me, a part of me died, I think.”
Ronan said the worst thing to come out of his affair was the part where he had to tell his children about their parents’ split.
“I was honest. They’re your kids. You have to be.
“It wasn’t an easy thing to do, as a parent you’re never wrong in your children’s eyes. They were upset. I’m sure they were angry.”
The ‘Life is a Rollercoaster’ singer said that he and Yvonne have somehow made it work for their children and despite his love for her, they both knew that their relationship could not be repaired.
“By then, we both knew it was the right thing, through all the pain we’d both found some sort of peace, some kind of beginning all again.

“She still is an incredible woman, we loved each other, we had three incredible children together. Of course I still love her, we both love each other and we’re going to be in each other’s lives for the rest of our lives,” he said.
Ronan told TV favourite Piers that he visited a psychiatrist post-break-up.
“My psychiatrist gave me a few reasons for why I possibly did what I did but again they’re excuses. So really you just go, you made a decision, you’ve got a choice.
“I spent so long trying to be perfect, trying to do every little thing right and one day I woke up and decided I didn’t want it. It’s like a diet: you diet, you diet, you diet and then you binge.
“I had a choice and I made it and I’m paying for it now.
Ronan released his latest album ‘Fires’ earlier this month and reports last week suggested that sales were extremely poor, selling just 181 copies in Ireland in its first week.
Her.ie is pretty sure that the disastrous sales have something to do with Ronan dishing the dirt on his broken heart in recent weeks!
