Rihanna’s charitable foundation is now offering college scholarships

Rihanna has been running the Clara Lionel Foundation (named after her grandparents) since 2012, raising money to help others in the fields of health, education, arts and culture.

She's hosted a charity ball, The Diamond Ball for the last two years that has raised a massive $5 million in total which is pretty impressive. The singer is now branching out into education through a new global scholarship programme courtesy of CLF. Billboard report that each applicant must be a citizen or native of Brazil, Barbados, Cuba, Haiti, Grenada, Guyana, or Jamaica and has been accepted into an accredited four-year college or university for the entire 2016-2017 academic year.

If the person is chosen, they could be eligible for anywhere between $5k and $50k in funds to put towards their education, and the renewal of the scholarship depends on how well the recipient performs academically, which is a great incentive to keep those grades up. “To be able to give the gift of an education is actually an honor. Higher education will help provide perspective, opportunities and learning to a group of kids who really deserve it. I am thrilled to be able to do this.”
