Rihanna has said that she felt sorry for her abusive ex-boyfriend Chris Brown after he brutally assaulted her in 2009. Yes ladies, you read that right.

Over the past few weeks there has been a lot of hype surrounding Rihanna’s upcoming tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. As we near August 19th (the date when the interview will be televised), more and more emotional snippets of the programme are being leaked onto the internet.

HeatWorld reports that in the latest preview of the broadcast, Rihanna tearfully explains that she felt sorry for Chris Brown in the wake of the attack.

“It was embarrassing, it was humiliating. I lost my best friend,” she says, fighting back tears in a promotional video for the interview.

“I felt like the only person they hate right now is him. It was a weird, confusing space to be in. Because as angry as I was – as angry and hurt and betrayed – I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help. And who’s going to help him?” she adds.

Rihanna goes on to explain how she was actually more concerned about Chris than she was about her own welfare.

“Nobody’s going to say he needs help, everybody’s going to say he’s a monster, without looking at the source. And I was more concerned about him,” she said.

What do you think ladies? Is Rihanna right to forgive him so easily? We can hardly wait for the 19th to get here so we can see the entire interview – we imagine it’ll make for some interesting viewing.
