Revealed: Holmes And Cruise’s Divorce Settlement

Court documents reveal what Tom Cruise will pay Katie Holmes following their quickie divorce.

Welcome to the results of the year’s most publicised celebrity divorce.

It has been reported that Katie Holmes walked away with nothing more than rather modest child support in her divorce from actor Tom Cruise.

Sources familiar with the documents filed in court told American celebrity website TMZ that Katie got no lump sum payout, consistent with the pre-nup which essentially shuts her out of Tom’s $250 million fortune (€200 million).

The court also announced the ‘Dawsons Creek’ star would not receive any spousal support.

Katie will child support payments for their daughter Suri from Tom, but it is less than a judge could have ordered. According to the settlement, Tom must pay Katie $400,000 (€319,000) a year in child support. The money will be paid by electronic transfer.

Tom must pay this support for the next 12 years, until Suri turns 18 years of age. In total, this comes to $4.8 million (nearly €4 million).

Tom must also pay Suri’s expenses, including medical, dental, insurance, education, college and extra-curricular costs.

Furthermore, the now-divorced couple also agreed that Suri will not attend a ‘residential school’ from now through her high school years. For Katie, this translates as her child cannot attend boarding school, Scientology or otherwise.

In advance of the settlement, Katie had said she wanted nothing from Tom other than a divorce.
