The whole of Hollywood, and ourselves, were left shocked when it was announced that Michelle Williams and Jason Segel had called it a day on their romance.
But the apparent reason behind the split is a little less shocking as it has now been claimed Michelle, who has a daughter from her relationship with the late Heath Ledger, wasn’t ready to commit.

It seems the couple’s long-distance love became too much for the former Dawson’s Creek star in the end. A source told People magazine: “She cares a great deal for Jason but is not ready to make a commitment.
“Maybe if they were together day-to-day, she would have more confidence in a future. But not at this time,” they added.
During their year-long relationship Michelle was living in New York while Jason was based in LA for shooting How I Met Your Mother.
The actor’s hit show is filmed in Los Angeles.
“While Jason made every effort to make them a priority in his life – and they were top priority – he still couldn’t drop everything and leave his life and career in LA,” the insider explained.
And it seems these two aren’t the only pair who called it quits over commitment issues as People are also reporting that Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen, who also broke up this week, had different ideas when it came to their future.
Michael and Rachel also called it a day this week for the same reason.
“Rachel wants to settle down and is dreaming of having a family… He wants to focus on his career,” a source revealed.
“They tried to work things out, but at the end they just couldn’t agreed. It caused some frustration and they thought it was better to go their separate ways.”
