Radio Legend (And Voice Of Scooby Doo’s Shaggy) Casey Kasem Dies Aged 82

American broadcasting legend Casey Kasem has died at the age of 82.

The legendary DJ was the original voice of the American Top 40 Countdown but was best known on this side of the world for voicing the character of Shaggy in the Scooby Doo television series.

Kasem suffered from advanced Parkinson’s Disease and dementia and had been moved into a convalescent home by wife Jean prior to his death. His daughter Kerri confirmed that the 82-year-old had passed away with a post on Facebook, saying “Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken”.
