The Princess of Wales confirmed she is now in remission following the visit.
“It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal.”
“I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”
The mum reflected on how she felt during conversations with cancer patients. She told them that the body is incredible and something we need to listen to more.
Kate shared: “I really felt like I needed to get the sun. You need loads of water and loads of sunlight.”
During the engagement, Kate met one patient and shared a moving message with her.
According to Hello, the mum told her to keep going amid the difficult treatments.
She said: “I’m sorry. I wish there was more I could do to help.”
She spoke to one patient named Tina Adumou and encouraged her to focus on the light at the end of the tunnel.
“I wanted to come and show my support for the amazing work that’s going on here and for those who are going through treatment and having such a hard time,” Kate said.
A spokesperson for the royals said she wanted this to be her first royal engagement of 2025 to highlight all the hospital does.
They said Kate “wanted to make the journey to both show her gratitude to the incredible team, but also highlight the world leading care and treatment the Marsden provides.”
