We all know that Princess Diana and Prince Charles had a difficult relationship.
But we had no idea just how tumultuous their marriage really was.
A royal author has claimed that Princess Diana said “something inside of me died” after Charles apparently“snubbed” Prince Harry.
According to Katie Nicholls:
“Diana was devastated when, upon returning home to Kensington Palace, Charles sped off in his Aston Martin to play polo in Windsor Great Park.”
Rude of Charles, in fairness.
And there’s even more to the story, it seems.
Katie also explained that Charles voiced his disappointment when it was revealed his new child was a boy.
He apparently turned to Diana’s mum, Frances Shand Kydd, saying that he was “so disappointed – we thought it would be a girl”.
Naturally, Frances snapped at him, reminding him how lucky he was to have a healthy baby.
Katie also claimed that Princess Diana “secretly hoped that the pregnancy would be the glue that would repair the fractures in their marriage”.
