Prince Harry made the sweetest reference to Meghan Markle’s pregnancy at Invictus Games

Prince Harry kicked off the 2018 Invictus Games today - and made sure to pay a sweet tribute to his future daughter/son in his speech. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced earlier this week that they they are expecting their first child in the spring. And the proud dad-to-be couldn't help but bring up the happy news as he delivered his speech at the Invictus Games Opening Ceremony today [October 20]. According to People, he said:

“First of all, thank you for the welcome you have given Meghan and I over the last few days. “I have been so proud to be able to introduce my wife to you and we have been so happy to be able to celebrate the personal joy of our newest addition with you all.”

The Invictus Games, which had been held around the world since 2014, is a Paralympic-style competition for wounded  and recovering service members and veterans from around the world. It includes sports like wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and indoor rowing. The event also holds a special place in the heart of the royal parents-to-be. It was at last year's event in Toronto that they made their official debut as a couple, arriving hand-in-hand and taking in the competitions.
