A controversial porn star is said to be furious at an Irish university for cancelling her invitation to speak at the college.
Porn star Tanya Tate blasted University College Dublin after her invite to the college was withdrawn.
The 32-year-old claims she was invited to speak at an event hosted by the Literary and Historical Society at the college next month. She became known in the Irish mainstream media after her sexual escapades with former Wexford hurler Greg Jacob in a campervan. Yes, indeed.
She was due to debate sex and adult entertainment with the students at UCD on September 19th.
Tate says this is the second time she was invited to speak at the Dublin university.
“While mainstream communities are becoming more open to exploring the notion of adult entertainment, some parts of our modern society are too ‘afraid’ to approach the subject,” she told the Irish Daily Mirror.
“Though I am disheartened by the actions of the college authorities, I do believe there are discussions on the topic of adult entertainment to be had. I will compile the questions, and on September 19th, the night I was supposed to be attending UCD, I will upload a video to my Youtube account with my responses.
“The college authorities may have prevented me from openly debating at the school, but I’ll be damned if I let them stop me from voicing my opinions and experiences to those who wish to hear them.”
However, the Literary and Historical Society Auditor Daisy Onubogu denied Tanya was cancelled because of any censorship reasons and said the invitation was cancelled because of financial reasons.
Ms Onubogu said the debate ‘This house should ban pornography’ will go ahead with another star.
“Another pornstar Charmaine Sinclair responded to us and said she would do it. Because Charmaine is based in the UK it was significantly cheaper to fly her in. Tanya would have to be flown in from LA, it has nothing to do with censorship or the university.”
