The legendary DJ battled against prostate cancer in recent years but it was with shock that news of his tragic death was met by friends and colleagues last week.

Speaking about his friendship with Fenton, Mario Rosenstock described Fenton’s arrival at the station to a “skyrocket”, adding that he was someone “who would look into your eyes for thirty minutes and listen about your life and genuinely be interested”.

“Nobody that I have met really in my life knew how to life life so brilliantly as Tony. He lived life like a Carlsberg ad. He believed that everything was going to go great today and somehow everything just went great for Tony today. People used and look and go ‘how does that happen to Tony Fenton? Why does it only happen to Tony Fenton that things go so well?’ He was mischievous, he was warm, he was a complete gentleman.”
