Earlier today, we heard the sad news that Kanye West was brought to a Los Angeles hospital for observation after police responded to a disturbance call.
Following the cancellation of the rest of his world tour, the rapper was admitted to hospital for exhaustion.
Kris Jenner told ExtraTV, “He’s exhausted. He’s just really tired. He’s had a grueling tour and it’s been a grind, so he just needs to rest.”
The news that the rapper was admitted to hospital evoked two different responses from people, one mocking the rapper for deciding to take a break and other of sympathy, wishing the husband and father of two a speedy recovery.
Fans took to Twitter to condemn the trolls who were criticising Kanye, considering his fragile state and need for recuperation.
People making jokes about Kanye being hospitalized is why there is a stigma around mental health. Get well soon, @kanyewest.

People might not like Kanye, but poking fingers and making jokes towards someone who is struggling makes you such a shitty person.

No surprise to see a deluge of jokes and glee directed at Kanye West this morning. After all, famous people don't deserve sympathy, right?

Odd to hear jokes on radio about Kanye being hospitalized. Attitudes to mental health are formed outside of covering 'mental health' stories

I hope Kanye West gets the help he needs. Easy to laugh and make jokes, but mental illness and depression is very real and devastating.
