When it comes to hot vampires, you have to admit that Paul Wesley (of The Vampire Diaries fame) is right up there on the list. Unfortunately, he’s also married. Disappointed!

The Irish Independent reports that as well as playing the role of Stefan Salvatore, the actor is also currently playing the role of doting husband and has said that starring alongside his wife is “phenomenal.”

Torrey DeVitto, Paul’s other half is currently working alongside him on the supernatural drama series and while most people would be a little weirded out about working with their spouse, Paul is overjoyed.

“I think it’s phenomenal. At first I was apprehensive about it but after being on the show for three seasons and being thousands of miles apart it is actually very fortunate. It’s good for learning lines too!” said Paul, speaking about sharing his workplace with Torrey.

“We all get along great. Everybody in the cast is great, and now my wife is on the show, it’s wonderful, it’s like summer camp,” Paul added.

Paul also stated that while he usually gets compared to another famous on-screen vampire (cough, Robert Pattinson, cough!) The Vampire Diaries is very different from the Twilight franchise.

“When I first read the script of The Vampire Diaries I thought, ‘Ok, they’re trying to ride the wave of Twilight.’ And I’m sure the show came out initially because Twilight was such a success, but at this point The Vampire Diaries has become its own little franchise,” said Paul.

“And really the two pieces, Twilight and The Vampire Diaries, are incongruent, they don’t follow. To be honest with you I’ve never seen Twilight,” Paul added.

He’s never seen Twilight? Sorry Paul, have you been living under a rock for the past few years? Anyway, Paul also admitted that he wasn’t sure how much longer The Vampire Diaries will last.

“Our contracts are for six series, so technically there can only be three more seasons, or there could be 10 if we decide we want to do more. I just don’t know how it’s going to pan out. For now I’ll just ride the wave,” he said.
