Television personality Paul O’Grady fears that his love of animals will land him in prison one of these days.
The host admitted during an interview with The Irish Sun that he would even consider becoming an animal rights protester to help protect his furry friends.
He said: ‘I’ve got a feeling I’m going to end up in the nick… I hate animal cruelty – it’s just wrong and shows someone has no respect for life.’
Paul continued: ‘If you are just stood there you’re ignored – but if you get arrested it’s all power to the cause.’
With hundreds of pets including dogs, sheep, chickens, pigs, ducks and owls it’s no wonder the man behind Lily Savage is so passionate about animal protection.

In fact his new ITV show sees him documenting the highs and lows of life at the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home which works to re-home animals.
Altogether Paul spent four months at the organisation and even left with a souvenir of his experience.
‘On the final day we were filming the re-homing of some puppies. A few weeks earlier someone had left a little Chihuahua tied to the gates. She was pregnant and in a shocking state,’ he explained.
‘They told me they all had homes, and then one of the homes fell through, so I said: ‘Oh go on, I’ll have him.’ And that was that.’
