Socialite Paris Hilton will have to do some serious work to remove her foot from her mouth having been caught making derogatory comments about homosexual men.

According to Radar Online the 31 year old, who isn’t in the spotlight half as much as she used to be, was recorded saying: “Gay guys are the horniest people in the world… they’re disgusting. Dude, most of them probably have AIDS.”

As if that wasn’t bad enough she also added: “I would be so scared if I was a gay guy… you’ll, like, die of AIDS.”

Paris was in a taxi with friends after a night out in New York when she made the comments earlier this month. The driver recorded the exchange and was said to be shocked by what the celebrity had said.

Paris was in New York for the fashion week when she made the remarks.

A spokesperson has already released a statement about the recording: “Paris Hilton’s comments were to express that it is dangerous for anyone to have unprotected sex that could lead to a life threatening disease,” quotes TMZ.

As well as that, they claimed that only a portion of the conversation was recorded and that the comments were in reference to a friend’s story about a website that “encourages random sex by gay men with strangers.”

The publicist continued, insisting that Paris is a “huge supporter of the gay community and would never purposefully make any negative statements about anyone’s sexual orientation.”

This story has left us in utter shock. Tell us, what do you make of Paris’ homophobic comments?
