Good news for the boys of One Direction today, as the band has finally managed to reach an agreement with a US punk band who also goes by the name of, eh, One Direction. We know, we know – what are the odds of that, right?
According to reports, both One Direction and the US based-One Direction released statements which stated that the Californian band will change its name to ‘Uncharted Shores’ meaning that Harry Styles and co will still be known as One Direction. Awesome.
According to the statements which were issued by the bands, both groups are very pleased with the resolution. Great!
We’re glad that Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis will still be able to call themselves One Direction. Seriously – could you imagine how hard it would be for them to come up with a new name now?
The US One Direction sound a LOT heavier than the UK One Direction.
Apparently, the One Direction boys were sued by the Californian punk group who were arguing that they came up with the name first back in 2009, before the X-Factor finalists even met.
After a few back-and-forth conversations between the two groups, the Californian punk band eventually decided that they would let One Direction keep the name and they would change theirs instead.
