Oscar Pistorius has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, who was found shot head in his home in South Africa.
The 30-year-old model was allegedly shot four times in the early hours of this morning.
Steenkamp had been dating Pistorius for a year.
Early reports say that she was planning a Valentine’s Day surprise for the Olympic sprinter but he thought she was an intruder. These have not yet been confirmed.
Police did say that Steenkamp was shot in the arm and the head within the gated community in Pretoria.
Pistorius made history last summer in the London 2012 Games.
Interviews with Pistorius and witnesses are said to have taken place with the gold medallist’s court hearing due to take place on Friday.
While the athlete’s representatives have declined to comment, his father Henke told reporters that his son was “sad at the moment.”
