Our first thought on seeing Rosanna Davison’s revealing Playboy shoot, after “wow, she looks good” of course, was “the awkward moment your dad is going to bring this up at the dinner table”…
And sure enough it happened.
But the Lady in Red crooner Chris De Burgh said he’s a “very proud dad” after seeing Rosanna’s topless photo shoot.
Not once, not twice, but quite a few times.
Chris blasted those who criticised his daughter for baring her boobs, calling them “jealous and negative”.
Okayyy Dad, stop now…
But singer De Burgh, who has a massive fan-base in Germany where Playboy published the magazine cover, took to Facebook to silence those who were up in arms about the topless pictures.
He wrote; “It is such a pity that some people are unable to celebrate success, instead of becoming lost in a pit of begrudgery, jealousy and negativity.
“If they feel so strongly about it, why aren’t they protesting against the torrent of soft porn and nudity in daily tabloids and even the magazine section of the ‘respectable’ Irish Sunday paper?”
The proud Dad takes to Facebook…
Rosanna caused an international storm this week after her raunchy beach shoot took to the top shelves.
The model was reportedly paid a six figure sum by Playboy and said her family and boyfriend Wesley Quirke were behind her decision to pose for the magazine.
She said; “I’m a big believer in taking opportunities in life and pushing boundaries. Ultimately, when I am old and wrinkly, I’ll have shots like these to look back on. Everyone from my boyfriend Wes to my family have been supportive.”
Rosanna has not spoken out about the criticism some people had of her photo-shoot. Publicist Max Clifford and Miss England boss Angie Beasley both said they disappointed with the 2003 Miss World Rosanna.
However, daddy Chris was still on a high, writing; “A VERY proud dad! Consider these names; Bo Derek, Cindy Crawford, Darryl Hannah, Elle MacPherson, Lizzy Jagger, Marilyn Monroe, Sharon Stone, Rachel Hunter, Naomi Campbell, all have graced the pages of Playboy.”
Maybe this is a bit odd…?
Thanks Dad, you can stop now…
Well, at least he is proud Rosanna…
