Nicola Coughlan has launched a fundraiser to help support the trans community after the UK’s Supreme Court ruling to exclude transgender women from the definition of ‘woman’ under the Equality Act 2010.

In an emotional video online, the activist spoke out about the “stomach-churning” ruling.

She said she was horrified by the ruling but vowed to do whatever she could to support trans and non-binary people.

Nicola stated:

“To see people celebrate it is more stomach-churning and disgusting.

“Now’s the time to speak up and make your voice heard.

The Derry Girls star added:

“Let your trans, non-binary friends and the community at large know that you’re there for them and we’ll keep fighting for them.”

She urged her followers to join her in raising vital funds during this harrowing time.

She added: “Allies of the Trans and Non-Binary Community, time to come together. Fuck the Supreme Court, fuck the TERFs let’s raise some money.”

Coughlan has launched a fundraiser for Not A Phase, a trans-led, nationwide charity.

She vowed to match any donation up to €10,000.

The UK Supreme Court ruling has been met with immense backlash online.

We need to follow Nicola Coughlan’s lead and support vulnerable communities during this heartbreaking time. Showing up, fighting for them, and raising vital funds can make a difference.
