Nicola Coughlan was nominated for her role in Bridgerton
Irish actress Nicola Coughlan has been nominated for a SAG award.
The actress has been nominated for Best Female Actor in a Drama Series for her role in Bridgerton.
Coughlan admitted she was stunned by the SAG nomination.
She became a leading lady during season three of Bridgerton when her character Penelope Featherington became the main star.
She wrote on Instagram: “This is a very lovely early birthday present! I’m absolutely in shock and so honoured.
“Thank you SAG Awards. So proud of the whole Bridgerton family,” the actress shared.
Fans of Coughlan praised her following the announcement with many admitting they’re not shocked about the nomination considering how incredible she was in season three of Bridgerton.
One wrote: “We are not shocked! You are amazingly talented and deserve this nomination and award. Congratulations Nicola! This is just the beginning.”
“I know how much y’all put so much effort and hard work to present us with a wonderful season! I’m so proud of you all,” another wrote.
A third added: “Well done Nicola, you are smashing it out of the park girl.”

Nicola is nominated alongside Allison Janey, Keri Russell, Kathy Bates, and Anna Sawai.
