Westlife’s days might not be over just yet, according to the former boyband’s member Nicky Byrne.

Nicky admitted life isn’t the same post-Westlife and hinted the legendary boyband could make a comeback.

The doting dad-of-two is finding his feet as a contestant on TV talent show Strictly Come Dancing after 14 years with the hit group.

The Dublin-man also began his TV presenting career on Friday on RTÉ’s Football’s Next Star.

But Nicky admitted that life since the band has been tough.

He said he’s still on “great terms” with the lads and didn’t say not to a future Westlife comeback.

“I think all the lads are feeling a bit strange,” he said, “We’ve been together for 14 years so it’s going to be a bit bizarre.

“When you’re part of something that’s taken up so much time of your life, of course it’s going to take some getting used to when it ends. It’s a bit change and sometimes that hits you.

“This time last year we were in South Africa, up a mountain and watching Dublin win the All-Ireland. This year I was sitting in my house on my own watching Donegal win it. I kept thinking last year  was on top of a mountain and now I’m here.

“It’s about growing up really, I do miss them but you’ve got to grow up.

“And with the way we finished, we’ve left things so that, if in 10, 20 years we decide to go back to Westlife, we can.”

The 33-year-old also said Strictly Come Dancing was different to other reality television shows.

“I wouldn’t do any other reality shows but Strictly is different,” he said.

The singer said he was persuaded to go on the show by his wife, and Her.ie columnist, Georgina Byrne.

“I used to be against the whole reality show thing but Strictly appealed because you actually learn something.  You’re learning a new skill, a talent.

“Georgina’s always been a big fan of the show and she always said “You’d be alright at that, you should give it a bash”. So there were a lot of positives. I’m loving the experience.”

Irish fans are loving the experience too, but were disgusted when they realised they would not be able to vote for their favourite dancing star.

Maybe they’ll have a Westlife reunion to look forward to now though…
