Nicky Byrne Misses Westlife Friends and Feels “Exposed” on the Dancefloor Without Them

Westlife’s split was difficult news for many of their fans but we never thought about how the boys would feel once the final curtain was drawn.

However, Nicky Byrne revealed that appearing in front of an audience on Saturday night’s Strictly Come Dancing without his fellow Westlife members was a weird and scary feeling!

According to Digital Spy, Nicky said: "When I walked on the floor I thought, 'Holy s**t, what have I signed up for?'.

"You are totally exposed and this is the first time I've done something out of Westlife.

"This is something with such media interest and out of my comfort zone, it's the toughest thing I could have picked."

Byrne boogied with his partner Karen Houer on Saturday night’s season opener, blowing rival show X Factor out of the water.

Despite the challenge Nicky said he is looking forward to doing something different on Strictly after spending so many years “sitting on a stool”.

"It's actually a long while since I've done something like this where I'm genuinely excited about what I've got in store during the day.

"All the celebrities are riding a crest of the wave at the moment,” he said.

Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing fans are complaining about the show’s revamped theme tune, which they say is “tacky” and “cheesy”.

The tune, which was formerly instrumental, has been equipped with new lyrics which include: “Want to feel your body close to mine, kiss your lips that taste like wine and shake your body.

Whatever about the new theme tune, we can’t wait to see Nicky hit the dancefloor again when Strictly returns on October 4.
