‘Never been more proud’ Jake T Austin pays Selena the most incredible tribute

Since news of her kidney transplant emerged, we've been all sorts of overwhelmed by Selena Gomez's resilience.

We're not the only ones either - a load of famous and non-famous folk alike have been taking to social media to offer their support and love to the 25-year-old star. And now none other than Jake T Austin has shared a particularly touching message of goodwill that will very probably leave you reaching for the tissues.

Accompanied by a load of throwback snaps of the duo together, the Wizards Of Waverly Place actor opened up stating: "You remind me daily to live my most authentic life without apologies while constantly inspiring me to be the best I can be for not only myself, but for others." He added: "You're one of the strongest people I know, proving that day in and out with a smile and no complaints even at times when I know it was hard for you. Anyone who knows you is well aware of your resilience. "I've never been more proud to call you my friend, my family and someone I couldn't live my life without. "Someone once said, 'friends are the family we choose' and I'm so thankful you're both." The 22-year-old furthermore included the hashtags #getwellsoon and #flasbackfriday.

Selena and Austin rose to fame alongside one another playing the respective roles of Alex Russo and Max Russo on the Disney hit series Wizards Of Waverly Place. Ms Gomez revealed recently that she underwent surgery during the summer. She has lupus and her kidney transplant was part of her recovery from the chronic inflammatory disease. Selena received an organ from her friend, Francia Raisa, with the singer stating that "she gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. "I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis."
