Music legend Cher has now weighed in on the Rachel Dolezal scandal.
She took to Twitter to say that she thought it was “cruel” that the civil rights activist’s parents exposed their daughter.

Dolezal, the president of the Spokane Branch of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People) has been accused of lying about her racial identity.
Her parents reportedly told media that she is white but is “being dishonest and deceptive with her identity.”
Dolezal herself said during an interview on Friday: “I actually don’t like the term African-American, I prefer black, and I would say that if I was asked I would say that… I do consider myself to be black.”
The NAACP also released a statement supporting Dolezal. It said: “NAACP Spokane Washington Branch President Rachel Dolezal is enduring a legal issue with her family, and we respect her privacy in this matter.
“One’s racial identity is not a qualifying criteria or disqualifying standard for NAACP leadership.”
Singer Keri Hilson was criticised over the weekend for telling people they should be grateful to Dolezal.
Let’s just all thank #RachelDolezal. Identity, pathological, & parental issues aside, she’s doing more than most of us do for ourselves.

Just my personal opinion. You don’t need to agree. Or thank her. Lol.
