Gerry Ryan’s widow Morah is said to be devastated about a tell-all book written by her late husband’s lover Melanie Verwoerd.
According to reports this morning, the widow fears that the story will open up old wounds for her and her children.
Someone close to Morah told the Irish Daily Star: “Morah is a very private person and I couldn’t imagine her ever opening herself and her family up to that kind of scrutiny.”
It seems the widow was approached about doing interviews and even writing her own memoirs shortly after the 2fm DJ’s death but declined.

Former UNICEF Ireland boss Melanie possesses no such reluctance. Her book, entitled When We Dance, covers all aspects of her life including her personal relationship with Gerry.
We doubt this will do anything to help the, to put it mildly, strained relationship between the two women.
The friend added that Morah, who has five children from her marriage to Gerry, will certainly not be picking up a copy but that those around her will to make sure there’s nothing untoward in it.
They explained: “She was completely unaware Melanie was even writing a book until the publisher announced the deal… Morah will not be reading it – but we will, and if there is anything in it that needs to be addressed then things may change.”
