Peaches Geldof is celebrating the arrival of her second son on Wednesday night, on what would have been her late mum Paula Yates’s 54th birthday.

The 24-year-old model and TV star chose to have a Caesarean section on April 24th to deliver the child, The Sun reports. She wanted to have her first son, Astala, on that date last year too but missed it.

A name couldn’t be any more “unique” than Astala, could it? Apparently, it can. The daughter of the late Big Breakfast presenter Paula and rock musician Sir Bob Geldof named her second son Phaedra.

The child was named after the album and song by German electronic band Tangerine Dream.

Tom and Peaches got married last year in the church her mother’s funeral was held.

Peaches was joined at the birth by musician husband Tom Cohen, her sisters Fifi, 30, Pixie, 22, and half-sister Tiger Lily, 16.

A source close to Peaches and Tom said last night: “They are absolutely over the moon about their new arrival.

“It all went smoothly and Peaches will be in hospital for a while to recuperate.

“Bob is absolutely over the moon, the whole family are.”

The couple now have two sons, Astala and Phaedra.

And family friend added: “They are particularly pleased about the significance of the date as it makes Peaches feel she is keeping her mum’s memory alive.”

TV star Paula died at the age of 41 in September 2000. She died of a heroin overdose at her London home.
