Broadcaster Miriam O’Callaghan has penned a heartfelt tribute to her sister, Anne, on her 30th anniversary.

The RTÉ presenter lost her sister to cancer when she was only 33 years old.

Miriam shared a photo of her and her late sister with their babies on Instagram to mark her anniversary.

“Today is my adored sister Anne’s anniversary – she died aged 33 from cancer. Hard to believe it’s 30 yrs,” Miriam wrote.

“This is my favourite photo of us both, wrecked new mums holding our baby daughters,” she continued.

Miriam said their daughters have remained incredibly close following her sister’s passing.

“The only happy part of all of this is that those two little cousins are now best friends,” she wrote.

Miriam’s followers sent her supportive messages after she shared the touching tribute to her late sister, Anne.

Miriam’s sister died from cancer in 1995, leaving behind two daughters.

Miriam said losing her sister so young helped change her perspective on life.

She explained that she now never takes life for granted and finds joy in every single day.

Miriam told RSVP: “I had a beautiful sister Anne, and she died very young. I wake up everyday feeling really grateful for life.

She added: “There are 24 hours in a day, and you can do a lot.”
