Mind Your Negativity Around Water, You Could Be Damaging It… At Least That’s What Paltrow Thinks

Yes, she's being serious.

Her

Oh Gwynnie, you just don’t know when to reel it in.

Gwyneth Paltrow has had some questionable views over the past few months, from working mothers to comparing reading comments about herself online to surviving war. Her newest words of wisdom is something a little bit stranger altogether.

Gwyneth’s latest views were printed in her most recent Goop newsletter, where she examines the the damaging effects negative words can have on water. No, really.

The excerpt reads:

‘I am fascinated by the growing science behind the energy of consciousness and its effects on matter. I have long had Dr. Emoto’s coffee table book on how negativity changes the structure of water, how the molecules behave differently depending on the words or music being expressed around it. Below, Dr. Sadeghi explores further.’

So, according to Paltrow’s line of thought, water will be damaged, or lose its value if it is exposed to negative thoughts or language.

It’s probably also worth noting that in 2003, Dr.Emoto (the guidance Paltrow follows on the matter) turned down a chance to participate in James Randi’s One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge, which would have won him $1,000,000 if he was able to replicate the experiment under test conditions.

Despite the claims being widely discredited by scientists, it still made its way into the Goop newsletter.
