Millie Bobby Brown married Jake Bongiovi in 2024
Millie Bobby Brown has opened up about why she decided to get married at a young age.
The Stranger Things actress married Jake Bongiovi when she was 20 years old.
Many people were surprised to see her tie the knot so young but the reason why is incredibly touching.
During her appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, the actress revealed why she wanted to marry at a younger-than-average age.
She told the podcast host that she knew Jake was the one for her when they started talking about “big things.”
“We had dogs together, and we were taking care of our animals, and we started living this day-to-day life, and I thought, ‘Oh, I really don’t think I could ever see you as anything else. I don’t want to be with anyone else ever again. I don’t want to date, I don’t want to meet anyone, I want you.'”
“When we started talking about politics and how we want to raise our kids…we started talking about really, really big things that I’d obviously never spoken about…But to be able to even think about those things, I was like, ‘S—. Okay, maybe I do want to be with him forever.'”
Millie explained that they had spoken about marriage before Jake proposed but she didn’t know when it was going to be.
“We talked about marriage, but I didn’t really know when it was going to be. And then, when he proposed, I was like, it makes sense. Everything aligned.”
Both Millie and Jake’s parents married young so it was a completely normal thing for them.
“We had really great role models growing up, so we didn’t see any different. We didn’t get jaded by all the other stuff, you know?”
Millie and Jake married in a private ceremony in May 2024.
The couple first started dating in 2021 and announced their engagement in 2023.
