Miley Cyrus takes swipe at ex Liam Hemsworth in lowkey performance

Miley Cyrus is just out here living her best life!

Standing in front of a small, invite-only crowd at the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Los Angeles, Miley performed her smash hit 'Flowers' live for the first time.

Of course, the Hannah Montana star looked stunning when she took to the stage in a black mini-dress and a pair of opera-length gloves.

To share the moment with her fans, Miley shared some videos and pictures from the night, including the moment she put on a show.

The 31-year-old captioned her post: "My birthday gift to MYSELF this year was VERY on brand. I performed for MYSELF and sang my favourite songs including my own.

"First 'live' performance of Flowers was to an audience full of my friends and family. Taking this song back to the seed… she sprouted sensationally.

"Grateful for the growth in us both. With Love, Miley"

In one of the clips of her singing, Miley seemed to take a swipe at her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth and it's giggle-worthy.

At one point during "Flowers," she even encouraged the audience to sing along with her and made some cheeky improvised ad-libs throughout.

"I didn't want to leave (but I had to), I didn't want to fight (but we did), started to cry but then remembered I (I'm in Dolce!)," she sang to much applause.

The intimate show comes six months after the pop star shared that she has no plans to tour right now.

"This has nothing to do with a lack of appreciation for the fans and everything to do with I simply don't want to get ready in a locker room," she wrote on Instagram in May.

"Which is the reality of life on the road." 

Miley continued in her post: "I just don't want to sleep on a moving bus. It isn't what's best for me right NOW."
