Grab the tissues, it has been revealed Destiny’s Child will not be reuniting at the Super Bowl this year.
Despite recent reports that had us oh-too-excited, the former trio will not be taking to the stage during halftime at the big game on February 3rd.
Former member Michelle Williams quashed the rumours, saying she actually has something else in her diary for that weekend. The singer will be performing in Fela!, the popular Broadway musical in Washington DC that weekend.
“I’m going to be in the musical Fela!’” she told WRUG Media. “I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it’s not true.”
While the group is still set to release Love Songs, a greatest hits compilation of their most romantic hits, it would be physically impossible for Williams to join Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland in New Orleans.
Destiny’s Child in their day…
Michelle used the opportunity to tell the world what she’s doing at the moment, and she’s certainly a busy lady. The former girl-grouper has been working on a new gospel album which she says is due out this spring.
Hardcore fans are still clinging on to the little bit of hope that Michelle might get a private jet to swoop her towards the Super Bowl.
She’s made it certain that won’t be happening but when asked about any reunion anytime soon, she replied: “You know, one day soon.”
